4/2-4/7: Nashville Fashion Week Roundup

Besides the breathtaking designs and inspirational creativity on display, one of the best parts of Nashville Fashion Week is the learning labs, which allows small groups to go behind the curtain and talk with the rising stars of the Nashville fashion community. Check out the learning labs sponsored by us here at NATIVE below.

4/2: Culture: Amanda Valentine & Ayana Ife

Former Project Runway contestants Valentine and Ife are sure to tell and interesting tale or two at the first of the NFW Learning Labs. The designers will discuss not only what it was like to work and live on the reality show set, but what it takes manage and build a brand in 2018 and beyond. The talk will run from 5–7p.m. at ONEC1TY.

4/3: Create: Margaret Ellis Jewelry

NATIVE has featured jewelry from Margaret Ellis before, and now you have the chance to make your very own. Located at Ellis’ shop on 10th Ave South, this learning lab lets guest leave with beautiful handcrafted designs (retail value $440). After the event, make sure you head to OZ Arts Nashville for a show from past-feature Escondido at 6:30 p.m..

4/4: Photography: Brett Warren and Zachary Gray

Warren and Gray have taken countless stunning photographs for NATIVE in the past. The two gentleman will be discussing their craft, creative process, and journeys as photographers in Nashville at ONEC1TY. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

4/6: Business: Her Data Method

For better or worse, the fashion industry is a cutthroat world, and one of the best ways to make it through the treacherous waters is with a good brand and business model. Shannon Ware and Melody Jennings Bowers, the women behind Her Data Method, believe being able to gather and comprehend digital data is an integral process to running a business, and they’re helping the female business owners of Nashville do just that. Ware and Jennings Bowers will speak at NATIVE’s upcoming Show and Tell panel.

4/7: Influence: Happily Grey & CLIQUE Media

Founder of style platform Happily Grey, Mary Lee, as well as Rachel Zeilic, the VP of talent for CLIQUE media, will be at ONEC1TY Saturday at 1:00 p.m. to discuss how social media influence can affect a company’s brand. Chrissy Fogerty, founder of Fauxgerty, will also be on the panel. IN addition to the overall theme of influence, the three women will discuss pitching and negotiating deals.

Be sure to also check out the Cosmetic Market Thursday at Cosmetic Market Hill Center for on-on-one training on runway-ready makeup. Finally, the NFW finale is Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at OZ Arts Nashville, with musical guest Karen Elson.
