On his latest release, NATIVE July cover story Cale Tyson traded his classic country for a Muscle Shoals-inspired sound. His debut full length, Careless Soul, features locals favorites like Caitlin Rose and Steelism, original Swampers bassist David Hood, and big, Phil Spector-y horns and strings. It’s a bold departure for a guy who was once (perhaps unfairly) seen as a trad-country purist.
To celebrate that departure—and Careless Soul—Tyson will perform next Tuesday at 3rd and Lindsley with Stationwagon and Jamin Kaset. For more information, click here. To buy tickets, click here. To read Tyson’s cover story, click here.
