Lavender Country, Becca Mancari, and Little Bandit

In 1973, Patrick Haggerty of Lavender Country wrote and released the first openly gay country record. NATIVE May feature Becca Mancari opened for him last year, and she’ll be doing so again this weekend. Although she does not necessarily identify as country, Mancari’s style of storytelling echoes the honest, raw writing that’s synonymous with honky-tonk music. Also on the bill is Little Bandit, a local country act currently on tour with past feature Coco Hames.

Celebrate Pride with Lavender Country, Becca Mancari, and Little Bandit this Sunday night at the Basement East. Read our interview with Mancari here, and purchase your tickets here.
