2/7: Midcentury Speed Dating at Fairlane Hotel

Listen, we think it’s fine to be alone Valentine’s Day. There’s some, erm, dubious history (goat sacrifices, Shirley Jackson-style human lotteries, martyrdom) surrounding the “holiday” , and today, it exists primarily as a vehicle for consumerism (in 2010 alone,  we spent $17.1 billion on Valentine’s Day).

Nonetheless, we also understand that spending February 14 alone, eating a pint of Brambleberry Crisp and possibly watching the new True Detective, can be depressing (or awesome, depending on how you see it). That’s why we’re offering speed dating at the Fairlane Hotel on February 7. It’s free, with free drinks and appetizers to boot, and the speed dating itself will begin at 7:30 p.m. So come on out—who knows, maybe if all goes according to plan, you’ll be splitting that pint of ice cream this Valentine’s Day.
