5/4: Wedgewood Houston Art Crawl

Listen, we’ve got nothing against the downtown art crawl—it’s an integral part of the city’s art community, and we can’t count the number of times we’ve enjoyed a stroll down Fifth followed by a night in Printer’s Alley. But if you’re anything like us, you might be a little burnt out on downtown after last weekend (Did you survive? Are you okay? Blink twice if Kid Rock is keeping you hostage).

If that’s the case, allow us to guide you a couple miles South to something a little more low-key. That’s right, we’re talking about the Wedgewood-Houston Art Crawl, happening this Saturday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (though some galleries stay open till 10 p.m.). As always, it’s free and there is guaranteed to be more parking than there is downtown, so come on out (we’ll buy you some Bastion nachos after). Full lineup and more info here.

When I create, I often think of what Johannes Itten said, “He who wishes to become a master of color must see, feel, and experience each individual color in its endless combinations with all other colors.”. I’m also inspired frequently by love and loneliness and want folks consuming my work to be encouraged to start paying attention to the little details in everyday life, appreciate the simple things, and let them eventually inspire you! Ultimately, I’m just trying to become a mother fuckin master of color.
