1/11: Ain’t Afraid: Songs of Jessi Zazu and Those Darlins at Mercy Lounge

In September we lost one of the pillars of Nashville’s music community: Jessi Zazu. Before she passed, Zazu was prolific as ever—she worked on new music with former Those Darlins bandmate Linwood Regensburg, hosted a joint art show with her mom called Undefeated, and bravely fought and spoke out about cancer.

Now, a group of Nashvillians aims to honor Zazu’s legacy this Thursday at Mercy Lounge with Ain’t Afraid: Songs of Jessi Zazu and Those Darlins. The tribute show will feature Bully’s Alicia Bognanno, John McCauley, Caitlin Rose, and many, many more. All proceeds will go to Jessi Zazu Inc., “a non profit [sic] formed to carry on [Zazu’s] spirit, supporting opportunities for young people in the arts, awareness of women health and health services and the continuing peaceful efforts in social justice.”
