It’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like, folks: Vampires will battle Hercules at TPAC this Saturday. Well, sort of.
The Nashville Opera Opera (conducted by Kelly Corcoran, who we talked to in our Women in Classical Music Roundtable) will perform Patrick Morganelli’s Hercules Vs. Vampires with a full cast of opera singers. Morganelli’s piece is inspired by and meant to accompany Mario Bava’s 1961 cult classic Hercules in the Haunted World, which will be projected during Saturday’s performance. Will Hercules rescue Princess Deianira from King Lico? (Sidenote: Lico is played by Christopher Lee—must have been hard up for cash.)
