Musicians Corner—the Centennial Park music festival that’s hosted the likes of Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, and The Preservation Hall Jazz band—begins its seventh year this weekend. The free festival will take place every weekend from May 12 to September 16 and include performances by past NATIVE cover stories Rayland Baxter, Langhorne Slim, and Brooke Waggoner. You can also expect food trucks, local artisan vendors, and non-local acts like Leyla McCalla and Margaret Glaspy throughout the rest of the summer.
This weekend kicks off with an acoustic night on May 12, headlined by past NATIVE feature K.S. Rhoads (with Jill Andrews). Ex-Civil Wars frontman John Paul White will headline the next day. Check out the whole calendar here, and keep an eye out for the NATIVE tent at the festival.
